Beach huts ASB

Dear residents, businesses, and visitors,

Weymouth NPT would like take a moment to reassure the community that we are actively patrolling the beach huts along Weymouth Esplanade due to the critical spike in anti-social behaviour reports. We take these reports very seriously, and we understand the concern and frustration that such behaviour can cause for both residents and visitors.

Your safety and peace of mind remain to be one of our key priorities, and our officers are conducting regular patrols throughout the evenings to deter and respond to any issues. Where appropriate, we will use enforcement powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime, and Policing Act 2014, including issuing warnings or dispersal notices to any individual causing persistent disruption.

While we are increasing our presence and working closely with partners such as Dorset Council, local businesses, and community safety teams to tackle and address this ongoing issue, we want to stress the importance of community vigilance and would like to encourage everyone to continue reporting these issues to us.

You can contact Dorset Police to report a crime via 101 or the Dorset Police website at Report a crime | Dorset Police.

If it is an emergency please call 999.

We appreciate your continued cooperation and support. Together we can keep Weymouth a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.
